1930
In 1925, Janez Stare completed his professional training and obtained a diploma for the carpentry profession, which is a precondition for independently managing the craft of the Carpenter Engineer profession.
Thus, in 1930 Janez Stare opened a carpentry workshop in Vodice. First, he renovated a part of his home and turned it into an impromptu workshop. Because the orders were piling up, he needed a bigger space to continue working, and already in 1932, he built his first carpentry workshop. Later in 1935, he employed ten carpenters.
The production includes the making of interior equipment as well as builder’s joinery. Ljubljana and its surroundings represent the fundamental market. In 1935, the company invested in a new combined machine (cutter, horizontal drill, saw), which was technologically very advanced for that time

1960
In 1960, Stare Janez Jr. took over the management of the carpentry workshop. Despite very difficult and unfavourable times for the craft, he successfully persisted and invested in new hardware.
In 1965, he obtained a degree as a woodworking technician, while working, and even before that, he had successfully passed his master’s exam. In 1966, he built a completely new, larger carpentry workshop. The workshop was specialised for interior design.
In 1975, Stare Janez was the first person on the market to invent a version of the accordion door. The accordion door thus became the main product of the company, which was successfully sold on the market in the former Yugoslavia. He created the accordion door in an exceptional size of 30 x 8 metres.
In the early 1980s, Stare Janez realized carpentry work for the church in Šiška, Ljubljana, according to Jože Plečnik’s original plans.
1998
Stare Janez increased the production capacity and expanded the workshop. He also invested in the first computer-controlled CNC machine. Luka Stare then joined the company management. The company proved to be a reliable and quality business partner after several successful years of cooperation with some foreign furniture manufacturers as suppliers for components. At the same time, the company gained first-hand experience in foreign markets. In 2004, an investment was made in the CAD/CAM production preparation system, and a bar code system was introduced in production.
In 2010, the company focused on the demanding Austrian custom furniture market for final customers. In the same year, Natascha Stare joined the company as an interior architect.
